The ZeMat research project includes the four subprojects ZeMat 1-4 and the industry partner Mannesmann Salzgitter Forschung (SZMF). Each project has complementary research goals. Interchanging of information and data according modeling, real data, simulation and classification can be illustrated as follows.

ZeMat1: Reconstruction of 3D defect charateristics in welds (located at University of Göttingen)
ZeMat2: Sparsity constraints in non-destructive testing (located at University of Göttingen)
ZeMat3: Numerical simulation, defect catalog, imaging and evaluation (located at Fraunhofer IZFP Saarbrücken)
ZeMat4: Efficient algorithms for defect classifictation (located at University of Hamburg)
